5th Spen Valley Scout Group
France 2008
The Scouts, Explorers and Leaders from the 1st, 3rd and 5th Spen Valley Scout Groups are back from their fantastic 8 day Ardeche and Alps adventure in France.
The Scouts and Explorers spent 3 days canoeing on the river including a 30Km, two day, descent of the Ardeche Gorge. If the river leaders are to be believed, the Ardeche is a circular river built by Harry Willis for his beloved Madeline!
We also hiked up an Alp and bivouacked at a remote campsite in the woods and there were lots of other activities onsite at Domaine de Segries, our main base.
Here are some pictures of the scouts tackling the rapids on the Ardeche, hiking and bivouacking at Embrun and their day trip to Avignon; there's loads more pictures to follow, watch this space….
